Royal Wedding Inspired Ideas

Lovely! That is all I could think (in my best British accent) while watching the Royal Wedding with my mother. Wow! A truly elegant and opulent event.

Since I obsess over weddings, colors, flowers, and design — it was hard for me not to notice ALL of the tiny regal details in this historic royal wedding. I see so many trends that more than likely will result from this very special day. I am secretly hoping that all wedding guests start wearing hats to weddings here in the USA. Well, a girl can dream, right?

You may see the following royal wedding inspiration pop up and trend in the next 1-10 years.

1. Royal wedding colors in Red, Blue, Gold, Teal Green, and/or White.

2. Tiaras. Simple elegant tiaras.

3. Floor length wedding gowns with long lace sleeves.

4. Royal wedding inspired invitations with simple modern italic typeface and a simple crown motif. Landscape size 5.5″h x 7-34″w.

5. Crystal belts

6. Handmade rosettes

7. Guests sporting lovely hats to weddings.

13. Black tux with black bow tie.

14. Trees gracing wedding venues and aisles.

15. Old world style, Joseph Lambeth technique cake decorating method on wedding cakes.

16. Flower girl dresses with short sleeves and large bows on the back.

17. Oak leaf and acorn earrings made of diamonds or rhinestones.

OH MY! That’s what I said when my artist eyes discovered this fabulous floral find! During my lunch break today I stumbled across this breathtaking rose photo on Decor8 blog. L – O – V – E! Love, Love, … LOVE!

Custom Save the Date Cards with Hand Painted Shoes Design

Today I finished up Theia’s custom save the date cards with a men’s shoe and women’s high heel.

After studying the shoes Theia loves for a bit, I hand drew them in pencil.

Next, I transfer my drawing in a clean manner to watercolor paper and then I paint. Shown below, the final art on buttercream 110lb save the date cards complete with a hand tied bow.

I always put my heart and SOLE into my paintings. The results are always the most fun. View more hand painted SAVE THE DATE CARDS designs!

Woweee! That is exactly what I thought when I laid my eyes on this photo. How inspiring! This blue anemone flower is so vibrant and beautiful. I just want to grab a HUGE canvas and start painting all of the gorgeous details this flower has to offer. Look at the curves and lines. The center grabs your attention. So powerful yet delicate at the same time.

What inspires you today?

Happy April to you! Living in Ohio we see white, white, white, green, white, green, … through March. Today I am seeing snow melting and the green grass popping through in spots! Spring is here in this lakeside town.
