Then while browsing Anthropologie’s blog I spotted IT’S 5-O’CLOCK SOMEWHERE posts. And then found FRIDAY HAPPY HOUR at Oh So Beautiful Paper. There are so many great ideas to be had out there.

Sparkling White Peach Sangria

Ingredients:

• 1 (750 ml) bottle Riesling, or other white wine of your choice
• 4 peaches, cut into wedges (about 2 cups)
• 2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
• 1/2 cup peach vodka
• 1 (750 ml) bottle chilled peach flavored sparkling wine

Directions:

In a large pitcher combine white wine, peaches, sugar (if desired) and peach vodka. Chill for 3 hours or until cold.

When ready to serve, pour in peach flavored sparkling wine and stir gently.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! And it is a great time to introduce Tuesday Shoesday at Mospens Studio. Each Tuesday I will paint a NEW high heel, flip flop, or shoe artwork and feature here.

Today is Christmas Eve and I wanted to design and paint a fun HOLLY JOLLY high heel for you. Sleek design, with polka-dots of course, and fluffy faux fur trim. Adorned with holly leaves and berries. After I painted the art, I just had to design note cards. Too much fun!

I have to admit, I am head over heels in love with Kelley and Anthony’s custom wedding invitation.

Less TRULY is More.

Hand-painted sweet and simple hearts in the lightest pink watercolor paint. EACH 100% cotton card was hand-painted by hand.

Letterpress just makes me happy. The printing technique is impressed (called a kisss) into soft cotton invitations. Beautiful and instantly adds luxury to all invitation designs. At Mospens Studio, James and I do prefer a deep kiss … for our letterpress printing.

The texture of cotton is gorgeous.

Kelley hand-tied each rustic wedding invitation with twine. This design is truly romantic with a rustic twist.

Soft pink and gray wedding colors were carried through perfectly with their wedding invitations. The pearl white tree free cardstock is luxurious and soft to the touch.

 Hundreds of painted watercolor hearts drying. Next they were assembled by hand and attached to beautiful tan rustic metallic cardstock. Perfect for a vintage wedding with a modern country-chic twist!

I am on a roll designing hip NAUTICAL save the dates! Nautical theme is true to my heart. Living in Ohio, we learn to accept the weather like a wave. There are ups and downs and when it is lovely out and warm. During awesome summer days you will find my family sitting at our quaint lake cottage enjoying the lake. Right now it is snowing here, so I will continue to poor my artistic soul into warm nautical, beach, and tropical themes!

BEST. SHOWER. EVERRR!

I am so delighted to share this awesome NAUTICAL BRIDAL SHOWER with you! I actually had the honor of attending this shower of a very sweet neighbor friend. xo

The shower was at the bride-to-be’s best friend, Kimberly’s, lakeside home. The PERFECT location for a nautical wedding shower!!

The beautiful hostess and bride-to-be. … Sailboats made the perfect nautical backdrop!

 Kelley’s nautical bridal shower invitations were custom designed with navy watercolor anchors adorning yellow rope, and matching yellow twine was wrapped around each invite.

 Super cute chalkboard art displayed the countdown until Kelley tied the knot!

 Many handmade projects decorated the event. The D.I.Y. touches were just lovely!! Bottles wrapped in twine and pearls holding flowers adorned the tables. Sweet cookies in gift bags were gifted to the guests. Nautical thank you cards were gifted to the bride-to-be. Each guest wrote their address on the front of the thank you card envelopes for Kelley. This is a great time saver for any busy bride-to-be!

With a lovely view of sailboats passing by, the guests sipped on lemonade and enjoyed yummy shower food while watching the bride-to-be open all of her gifts.

In the background lovely jazz music played. This is by far one of my favorite parts of a party. MUSIC. You must have good music, lovely table decor, and yummy food for an awesome wedding shower.

The perfect nautical bridal shower, in my opinion. It is all about the details!

It’s FONT LOVE time! Yay!!

Font combos that were made for each other. Get DIY wedding invitation ideas and more!

I’ve seen some pretty scary D.I.Y. invitations, and it was not for Halloween parties.

If you are not a D.I.Y.er and want to reference lovely font combos before ordering custom wedding invitations with us, you will also benefit from this post!! You can visualize how the font combinations actually look.

Designing your own invitations … I get it. It’s not rocket science AND you want to save a buck. So why not? Pretty please, pay attention to your leading and font sizes. Font choices and sizes can make or break your D.I.Y. wedding invitation design. Let’s take a look at this D.I.Y. wedding invitations design, note how elegant the fonts are? Now take a peek at this D.I.Y invitation and how fun the fonts are. Easy peasy! Today, I am here to help!

Below, I have listed my MOST favorite (for today) fonts and sizes that look fabulous together!

Think of adding fonts to your project, as a craft! With a little effort and time you can create the perfect looking D.I.Y. wedding invitation like a pro graphic designer!

One tip I would like to share, when laying out your text do not make the body font height taller than the height of your names. Just my opinion. This will give you a more classy look. However, if you are creating a chalkboard design, then mixing and matching is fun and a must!

1. Josefin Slab – 12pt with 27pt leading looks lovely with Rosemary Italic Regular 48pt (I am sorry, unfortunately this font is a calligrapher’s font and he no longer sells it)

2. Modern No. 20 – 12pt with 22pt leading is perfect to me with Bombshell 35pt

3. Mrs Eaves All Caps – 12pt using 24pt leading is fabulous with  Cantoni Pro 48pt

4. Arvo – 13pt with 22pt leading for parents names and then 10.5pt and 22pt leading for the invitation body is awesome with Carolyna Pro Black 38pt for the names

5. Mrs Eaves All Caps – 12pt with 24pt leading for parents names and then 10pt and 24pt leading for the wedding invitation body looks lovely with Asterism  55pt

6. Mrs Eaves All Caps – 12pt with 24pt leading for parents names and then 10pt and 24pt leading for the invie body looks super with Bellucia 55pt
